The Fine Print
Privacy Policy
We're a pub, not a data company. This page explains — in plain English — what this website collects, what it doesn't, and how to reach a human about it.
Effective October 1, 2026
The short version
This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers. The personal information we get is what you type into a form and send us on purpose, and — only if you're on our Pic Clique email list — which of our pages you look at. We use it to reply to you or to send you the emails you asked for — nothing else — and we never sell it.
Who we are
This policy covers picalilli.com, operated by The Original Pic-A-Lilli Inn, 866 US-206, Shamong, NJ 08088. Questions go to Picalilli206@aol.com or (609) 268-2066.
What we collect
Information you hand us
We only receive this if you fill out a form and submit it:
- Pic Clique signup — your name and email address, so we can send you news about events, new menu items, and the occasional free-wings offer. If you choose to, your birthday month too (only the month, never the day or year), so an email can land in the right month.
- Private event inquiry — your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you tell us about the event you're planning, so we can call you back about it.
Both forms are saved to a private database hosted by Cloudflare that only we can read, and both send an email to our staff so a person actually sees it — that email contains what you wrote. Event inquiries are worked by our staff. Pic Clique signups are also added to our email contact list, which Method Optimization runs for us and which sends the Pic Clique emails. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
Please don't send sensitive information — health details, card numbers, government ID numbers — through a website form. If we need something like that, we'll ask you in person or over the phone.
Information collected automatically
We count page views. A small script counts which pages get looked at, roughly how many visits that adds up to, which website sent you here (the site's name, like google.com — never the full address you came from), the country your connection is in, and whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer. It uses no cookies, never records your IP address, and keeps nothing that could pick you out or follow you between visits — only daily totals. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, it counts nothing at all. Method Optimization runs it for us.
Knowing which pages you look at. When you join the Pic Clique on our website, or open our website from a link in one of our emails, our website remembers that on your browser so that we can see which pages of our website you look at. This is tied to your email subscription, and we only do it for people who are subscribed to our emails. We use it to send you offers and news that match what you are interested in. It stores one small item in your browser and does not use cookies. If you unsubscribe from our emails, we stop recording which pages you look at. To stop it on this browser without unsubscribing, click here. We do not do this for visitors whose browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We keep this information for up to 13 months.
Like every website, ours is delivered by a web server that keeps short-lived technical logs — your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. Our host uses these to deliver pages and to block attacks. We don't use them to identify you, and we don't combine them with anything else.
One exception worth naming: when you submit a form, we save two technical details alongside your message — the country your request came from and your browser's user-agent string. We keep them to spot spam and abuse. They're stored with the rest of your submission rather than rolling off like the logs above, and they sit next to your name and email. We never store your full IP address.
What we don't do
- We don't use cookies on this site
- We don't run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or session recording
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your information — to anyone, for any price
- We don't take payments or store card details here
- We don't build advertising profiles or track you across other websites
How we use what you send
To answer your question, to plan the event you asked about, and — if you joined the Pic Clique — to send you occasional email about the pub. That's the whole list. We don't use your information for automated decisions, and we don't hand it to advertisers.
Who else touches your information
We use a small number of outside services to run the site. They may handle your information only to provide their service to us:
- Cloudflare — Hosts this website, filters malicious traffic, checks that form submissions come from a person rather than a bot, and stores them in a database on our behalf. Privacy policy
- Toast — Runs our online ordering. Privacy policy
- Method Optimization — Runs the system that holds our Pic Clique contact list and sends the Pic Clique emails, counts page views on this site without cookies, and, for Pic Clique subscribers, records which pages they look at once they sign up here or arrive from one of our emails. Pic Clique signups are added to that list. Privacy policy
- Resend — Delivers the notification email that tells our staff you filled out a form. What you typed into the form is inside that email. Privacy policy
- Sanity — Stores the words and photos on this site. It holds our content, not information about you. Privacy policy
We'll also share information if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect the safety of our guests and staff. Otherwise, it stays with us.
Links to Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps, and our ordering provider take you off this site. Once you're there, that company's privacy policy applies, not ours.
Getting off our email list
Every Pic Clique email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click is all it takes. That removes you from our contact list. You can also email Picalilli206@aol.com and we'll take you off by hand. We don't make you explain why.
How long we keep it
Event inquiries are kept while we're working with you and for a reasonable time after, in case you come back to us. Pic Clique emails stay on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Records of which pages a subscriber looked at are kept for up to 13 months. Server logs are short-lived and roll off on their own.
Your choices
Just ask. Email Picalilli206@aol.com and we'll tell you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a formal legal right to this; we'd rather just do it than argue about whether a statute applies to a neighborhood pub.
Children
This site is meant for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe your child sent us something, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. Worth a look now and then.
Talk to a person
Privacy policies are usually written to be unreadable. If anything here isn't clear, or you want to know what we have on file, just ask — you'll get a person, not a ticket number.
